Minutes of the November 3th, 2010 Meeting

of

The Morris County Fire Prevention Association

 

The meeting was called to order at 10:05 AM by President Michael Pellek, who welcomed all in attendance. There followed a flag salute and a moment of silence for those gone before us.  The meeting was then turned over to two representatives from R & J Controls who gave a power point presentation on Generator Maintenance and Testing.

 

Secretary Babcock reported on behalf of the Nominating Committee that the candidates as they now stand are for President:  Dennis Lonagan and Mike Pellek

                                        Vice President:   Vinnie Corsaro and Dennis Lonagan

                                         Secretary:  Craig Babcock

                                         Treasurer:  Ed Nunn

 

After some discusion it was decided that electronic ballots would be available from Monday 11/22/10 through Tuesday 11/30/10.  Anyone who has not voted electronically can still vote by paper ballot at the December meeting.

 

The Treasurer's report was given and accepted as read

 

Paul Elenio gave the State Report which is attached.  He encouraged us to check our Wal-Marts because it has been reported that they are, by their corporations' directive, self inspecting there suppression systems.  We were also encouraged to obtain a copy of the lock down procedures for out schools to be sure they are maintaining fire safety.

 

New Business

 

The Trailer is at the Academy and looks good.  Progress is reported in developing policies for its use.  It needs a new battery.  Dennis Lonagan made a motion which was seconded, and passed to purchase a new battery for up to $100. 

 

A motion was made, seconded, and passed to reimburse Madison for the food expense for the Holiday party.

 

The next Meeting, and Holiday Party is Wednesday December 1st at the Madison Fire Station at 7:00 PM (not 7:30 PM)  Please vote on line or at the meeting/party.

 

The Meeting was adjourned at 11:27 AM.
